About me
Professor of Human Anatomy and Exercise Physiology. Current Owner & Director of PEAK Educational Training and Consulting, LLC, a PE professional development and consulting company. Previously a full professor within the School of Kinesiology and Recreation at Illinois State University (ISU) having taught in both undergraduate and graduate programs with expertise in Human Anatomy & Physiology, Exercise Physiology, Exercise in Health & Disease, Work Metabolism and other areas. Honored to be recognized with ISU Outstanding Teaching Awards. Additionally, the past director of the ISU Exercise Physiology Laboratory leading research projects which led to numerous publications and presentations and over $700,000 in grants and contracts. Research interests include physical fitness and activity, exercise in health and disease, and exercise metabolism. Current efforts center on working with teachers and schools in the enhancement of physical education programs, providing teacher training along with other PE enhancement efforts. This work has been recognized through American Heart Association (AHA) by receiving the Health Initiatives Leadership Award from the Greater Midwest Affiliate of the AHA and recognized with the Heart Saver and Hero Award from the Central Illinois AHA. Recognized with the Illinois AHPERD Scholar Award along with being named a Keynote Speaker at the National PE Institute.
