About me
Joanna Hanson is a Student Services Coordinator in Valley View School District 365U with 27 years of experience in education. She holds a Master’s degree in Trauma and Resilience in Public Settings, and her work is grounded in the belief that learning happens best in environments where adults and students feel supported through co-regulation and strong relationships. Joanna co-leads Peace Circle trainings to help staff strengthen connection, model calm and care, and create spaces for reflection and repair. She also supports therapy dog work across the district, recognizing the role of connection and regulation in helping people feel safe and supported. Outside of her role, Joanna enjoys reading and is a proud wrestling mom—where she gets plenty of real-life practice using co-regulation skills, deep breathing included.
