Krish Mohip is a nationally recognized education leader with over 25 years of experience transforming public school systems through equity-driven, data-informed leadership. As Superintendent of Proviso Township High Schools District 209, he brings a proven track record of improving student outcomes and organizational performance.
Previously, Mohip served as Interim State Superintendent and Chief Education Officer at the Illinois State Board of Education, where he managed $7.8 billion in federal pandemic relief and led statewide initiatives on student safety and academic recovery. As CEO of Youngstown City Schools, he spearheaded Ohio’s first state-led district transformation, raising the graduation rate by 11 percentage points to 85.1% and boosting the Freshman on Track rate from 63% to 94%. Under his leadership, Youngstown Early College achieved a 100% graduation rate, with 91% of students earning an associate degree.
Mohip began his career in Chicago Public Schools, where he became the district’s youngest principal at age 27 and later served as Chief of Schools for the lowest performing schools in the district, and Chief Transformation Officer. His leadership is defined by a commitment to inclusive practices, community engagement, and sustainable school improvement.
