Milan Bansal is a Sophomore at Hinsdale Central High School in Hinsdale, IL. Back in 2023, he co-founded the P.A.S.S. (Peer Athlete Student Scholars) program with his brother, Ary, focused on peer-to-peer support for academic and athletic wellness and balance. P.A.S.S. provides free tutoring and study groups, positive role modeling and mentorship, in all core content areas, matching student tutors (vetted by teachers and performance) to provide study skills, class and homework support, and encouragement for positive growth both on and off the field. Who better to understand student pressures than another student? Positive role modeling and mentorship is a hallmark of the P.A.S.S. program and is open to all students and seeks to tailor skills suitable for all learning styles. Additionally, P.A.S.S. fosters a group mindset that "when students study together, they succeed together," strengthening the importance of teamwork that extends beyond the school day. As a lifelong athlete, Milan is a member of the Hinsdale Central baseball team and math team. His drive and determination to excel both on and off the field, as both a dedicated student and strong athlete, identify him as a positive role model in the Class of 2028. When not working on his fastball, Milan is also a guest writer for The Hinsdalean where he writes a two-year opinion column focused on the importance of teen positivity and growing up with an appreciation for the world around us. He is a member of Hinsdale Central’s Principal Advisory Committee, the Hinsdale Public Library Junior Board, and a long-time volunteer at The Birches, an assisted living facility. Recently, Milan also started his own SubStack where he shares messages about perseverance, perils of social media, and the art of communication from a teen’s perspective. You can follow him online
